Sonnet is one of those dogs you can honestly call “your own.” She’s spent most of her life with us, and it shows — she truly knows how to live with people, understand them, and be part of a family.
She spent a few months in a foster home, so things like couches, kitchens, morning routines, and just hanging out next to her person are completely natural to her. That’s the life she knows and loves.
She’s a very confident girl. Not anxious, not chaotic — she knows who she is. At the same time, she absolutely adores people, especially kids. She might gently lean into you… or suddenly flop onto her back and roll around on the floor like it’s the highlight of her entire day. She loves attention and knows exactly how to get it — funny looks, a soft paw touch, or quietly scooting closer and closer until she’s right next to you.
With cats and small animals, she’s calm and respectful. With other dogs, she just needs a little time — Sonnet knows she’s strong and may try to take the lead at first. But once she’s familiar, she becomes very sweet, soft, and easygoing with them.
She’s smart and very easy to train. She learns fast, picks things up instantly — especially if there’s food involved. For a treat, she’s ready to focus, work, and give you her best.
Sonnet isn’t just “a dog.” She’s about connection, personality, and sharing your life. She’ll be there, make you laugh, catch your eye from across the room, and quietly settle at your feet. And at some point, you’ll realize you can’t imagine your life without her.
